A man who suffered serious injuries following a crash on the main road between St Helens and Bembridge 2 weeks ago is recovering from the impact of the accident.
The incident occurred on the afternoon of Tuesday 27th June, as previously reported by Island Echo and saw the Hampshire & Isle of Wight Air Ambulance scrambled.
The casualty was travelling on his trike motorcycle down Point Hill towards Embankment Road when the collision occurred, sending the trike onto its side. The man, who Island Echo is not naming, was airlifted to Southampton General Hospital where he remained in Intensive Care.
It is understood that the male – from Bembridge – sustained multiple rib fractures, a cracked sternum, a broken big toe and multiple bruises and abrasions.
He has now been moved to a general ward but remains in hospital.
Taking to social media, the motorcyclist has thanked members of the public who went to his aid.
