UPDATED: A criminal dubbed the ‘Carisbrooke Slasher’ has struck again over the weekend, bringing further misery to motorists.
As previously reported by Island Echo, residents living in the estate surrounding Carisbrooke College have been terrorised for months with car tires being slashed on over 30 vehicles, costing drivers thousands of pounds.
On Sunday night, a further three vehicles were struck in Wellington Road, including a Ford Fiesta which was later raised and had two wheels removed for forensic examination by Police.
In total, 43 vehicles have now been vandalised, however Police are yet to arrest anyone for the crimes. A spotter plane was tasked to circle the area previously, which deterred the criminal for a short period.
UPDATE WEDNESDAY: Police have this morning confirmed that a male has been arrested on suspicion of causing criminal damage following the multiple incidents in Carisbrooke.
The individual, who has not been named, has been bailed until July.
