UPDATED: Police, Fire and ambulance crews are attending a road traffic collision on Victoria Road in Newport this morning (Wednesday).
2 people have been injured in the incident, in which a Renault Clio has come to rest on its roof. Emergency services were called to the scene on the narrow dead-end street around 01:45.
The Clio has also crashed into a parked van, which has sustained significant damage.
UPDATE @ 02:55 – The 2 occupants of the vehicle have been conveyed to St Mary’s Hospital for treatment after freeing themselves from the wreckage. They are both said to be drunk.
Recovery of the vehicle is taking place. Unfortunately, a van parked on the carriageway is likely to be written off due to the damage sustained in the crash.
It remains unclear as to whether or not the car is stolen.
