UPDATED: A car has left the carriageway and rolled into a field on Brading Down Road this morning (Wednesday).
Emergency services are on the scene between Brading and the Ashey turn off, including 3 ambulances and an ambulance officer.
At least 1 – possibly 3 – people have been injured in the incident, which has involved a small Fiat.
The road remains open under Police direction.
UPDATE @ 09:35 – The Isle of Wight Ambulance Service has conveyed a number of casualties to hospital.
From the evidence at the scene, the vehicle appears to have been travelling towards Newport when it lost control and veered across the road, through a hedge and into the farmer’s field.
Recovery has been arranged.
Meanwhile Police are also attending a road traffic collision on Long Lane, Newport. A Peugeot 206 has gone into the rear of a Ford Focus.
UPDATE @ 10:12 – The vehicle has now been recovered from the scene by Bartletts Service Station.
The extent of the injuries sustained is currently unknown.
