UPDATED: Emergency services, including the Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service, are currently responding to an overturned car on Ashey Road on the outskirts of Ryde.
Police, ambulance and 2 fire appliances were called to the incident at 08:45.
Motorists are advised to avoid the area with the road closed in both directions.
UPDATE @ 09:35 – One female has been conveyed to St Mary’s Hospital this morning after her silver Jeep 4×4 came to a rest on its side near to West Ashey Farm.
The driver was initially trapped inside the vehicle, but managed to self-extricate herself.
Bartletts Service Station are currently recovering the vehicle. The road is anticipated to reopen in both directions shortly.
UPDATE @ 09:48 – The scene has now been cleared and Ashey Road leading to The Downs has reopened in both directions.
