A car has left the carriageway and come to a stop in a hedge on the outskirts of Newport this morning (Monday).
The minor incident has occurred on Staplers Road near the junction with Blacklands Lane.
A small hatchback has lost control and veered into the undergrowth at the side of the road.
Traffic is delayed in the area whilst the driver is assisted.
No one is thought to have sustained any serious injuries.

Was the driver in a rush then?
I guess they ended up being late
Can’t even blame ice, yet.
Well some idiot went through the small Brook roundabout in a white Ford pickup from westridge side with out slowing down and looking this morning a split second earlier I would have been dead. Give way from the right means stop and bloody look twat
If that vehicle was already at the junction with you as you say we’re approaching that roundabout as you were not at the stop line the. You won’t have right of way.
If however you were at the stop line then of course you would of had right of way but from your comment it is the first.
That was unintelligible gibberish.
That’s why idiots have those pickups they can’t drive think they own the roads glad your ok
Monday morning lets see how many we can rack up this week.
With the current traffic management on the Island, I am surprised they managed to go fast enough to hit the bank.
Need to check your tyres this time of year. You can be driving ok and still slip of the road if you’re tyres are in poor condition. When I walk my dog I see so many cars with tyres that I would say are illegal. Would not pass an MOT for sure. Part of the highway code to check your car over every couple of weeks. Check tyres are good, lights work and window washers are full.
I heard that one of the senior managers at Island roads claims that IOW drivers are to blame for the long delay; they don’t know how to drive like mainland people. Still too many drivers going to fast in my opinion and it’s getting worse.
There are plenty of mad drivers on the mainland
Those dam moving hedges again.trees ..yes that comes as standard over here but those naughty hedges need a good talking too
Yeah, get on that mobile to em !!
Perhaps they were shocked to hear the Floating bridge will be back again
