UPDATED: Police and Ambulance crews are this evening attending a road traffic collision in Havenstreet.
A Peugeot 106 Quicksilver hatchback car has left the carriageway between the Isle of Wight Steam Railway and Briddlesford Road, colliding with a number of trees and a fence on the exit of a corner.
Emergency services were called to the scene near to Combley Wood at around 19:50 after passing cars raised the alarm.
The silver car has been severely damaged in the crash, however the condition of the driver and any passengers is currently unknown. Paramedics are on the scene assessing those involved.
The road remains open this evening, however motorists are advised to take care when passing the scene.
UPDATE MONDAY – It is understood the driver of the vehicle has not been seriously injured in the collision.
