Police on the Isle of Wight have questioned a man on suspicion of drug dealing after officers stopped a car on Brading Downs earlier this week.
Response and Patrol cops stopped an Audi A3 on The Downs on Tuesday afternoon when their suspicions were aroused.
During the traffic stop, a quantity of cannabis was found inside the vehicle alongside £4,000 in cash.
The driver, a 30-year-old man, was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of a controlled drug of Class B, driving a motor vehicle with a proportion of a specific controlled drug above the specified limit and possession of criminal property.
Following questioning at Newport Police Station, the suspect was released from custody but remains under investigation as enquiries continue.

Hahaha released under investigation!! Go on lad got away with that one then!
What I mean by this is the police have just released them with a slap on the wrist! Sarcasm! Jesus you lot aren’t very clever!
He has been released pending further enquiries so would have been given a bail date to return once all the evidence is gathered and CPS decide whether to charge or not.
Sadly most people on this site don’t understand sarcasm.
Was this a matter of being in the right place at the right time for the police ,or was the driver/ car known to police . Either way bloody good work by the police
already known to police
For what reason did they get suspicious about a car?
Flagged vehicle and driver
Probably a Tip – Off
Because its an Audi
I have an Audi, I work as a doctor and I don’t deal drugs – you are an ignoramus.
You do, they may be prescribed but you do.
I too own an Audi, so well said RarityinRyde, yet another idiotic comment
I too own an Audi, once again another idiotic comment
Yes it was an intentional idiotic comment, it’s called a joke are you familiar with those?
I have an A4 which one have you got?
Well done more drugs that cause misery for families of the streets and low life arrested
These self proclaimed criminal masterminds believe in their pathetic little minds that they can get away with this! Hello!! Wake up and grow up
Scum! A good stop for the police.
Don’t let them just get a slapped wrist for this PLEASE!!!!!!
I don’t use drugs.. But people get mad about plant called Cannabis which is medicine really and it’s individual choice to use and doesn’t even do harm really.. Brainwashed society..!!
Unfortunately these people that peddle this plant will deal anything if they can get away with it, it’s a bad road to mess with, so don’t deal with anything in the drug world…
Once upon a time the plant Nicotiana was used to treat a wide range of conditions. Indeed, Nicotiana acquired a reputation as a panacea, to the extent of being called the ‘holy herb’ and ‘God’s remedy’. Roll on a few lifetimes…
Good. Dealing should be more transparent during lockdown, so police have had a good opportunity to catch a few foot soldiers. Crafty these people though.
Maybe at last I can have my windows open without the stench of neighbours smoking habits wafting in.
Was he fined for being out and about without essential reason
All this for a planet? Really…….its not like its heroin or crack……..waste of police resources. I understand its illegal at present, but hardly Pablo Escobar
Many of these imbeciles on the island who deal drugs run around in untaxed, uninsured cars so really make the job easy for the police. Haha stupid as you like!
Any car of drug dealers should be taken and sold.
They should be evicted from their property and kept in bed and breakfast only.
This low life trash are making tens of thousand each year, paying no tax, and with the greater majority on benefits and bringing up a new low life generation to see what ‘daddy’ does, and will assume such is the normal.
And weak laws will encourage their numerous childrens minds into seeing such is the ‘way to go’ as they see more money, more luxuries than those ‘idiots’ just working for a living.
These people need everything they own except the bare essentials taken, and vouchers given for food for their often numerous offspring.
A fine is nothing to someone taking in tens of K per year, tax free, along with rent, council tax and brood all paid for by ‘others’.
THINK see it how it really is.
I don’t use it but don’t some people use it for pain.It is legal in some countries.Plus on the news ages ago the oil from it can be prescribed for certain medical conditions.I remember going to a party years ago with many people smoking, came home with a terrible headache, and it wasn’t drink,as I don’t drink. So vowed never to even try it.Cant see any harm if for medical reasons.
