Red Funnel has announced that 6 key crossings on its hi-speed Red Jet service have been cancelled tomorrow morning (Wednesday).
The 06:15, 07:35 and 08:55 sailings from Southampton have been scrapped alongside the 06:55, 08:15 and 09:35 from West Cowes
It comes as a result of a mechanical failure with the outer main engine on Red Jet 7 – the flagship vessel of Red Funnel’s hi-speed fleet.
The cross-Solent operator has apologised for any inconvenience and is encouraging passengers to consider travelling on the vehicle ferry service instead.
UPDATE WEDNESDAY @ 11:33 – Red Funnel has confirmed that following essential repair works to the engine, Red Jet 7 is now back in service.
A spokesperson for the operator has said:
“We thank customers for their patience and apologise for the inconvenience caused as we worked to resume our normal timetable.”

I wonder if Dread funnel had any involvement with the non floating bridge? Just a thought …..
One fixed link and there would be no need for ferry issues
So your fixed link wouldnt be closed for several hours due to a serious or fatal rtc then, speak sense will you.
Nails in your own coffin comes to mind.
You couldn’t make it up.
