An Island charity is appealing for locals to donate golf balls as organisations look for new and unique ways to fundraise.
Fundraising become difficult since COVID-19, which has led to Isle of Wight-based charity Roll Out the Barrel launching a new appeal.
Adrian Brewer, CEO of the international charity, has said:
“We have a plan for an event which has been tried elsewhere with great success. We intend to tweak the event to suit the Island ensuring all regulations regarding Covid are adhered to.
“We need at least a 1,000 balls and the event will take place here on the Island in February 2021, either virtually via live stream or with an audience, depending upon the situation at the time.”
Golf balls can be dropped at the charities offices at 2 Daish Way, Newport. PO30 5XB
Browns Golf, Sandown could donate theirs seeing as they don’t require them anymore. X
What sort of ‘event’ ? (With Mr Brewer ‘Rolling out the Barrel’ it sounds like a PU) and who benefits from this charity ?
I have loads of old golf balls that are just gathering dust in the shed, I’ll try and drop them off next week sometime
