UPDATED: 50 homes remain without power in the Kingston area of East Cowes this afternoon (Thursday).
300 properties were initially without power when a fault developed on the network at 10:45 this morning.
Engineers from Southern and Scottish Energy (SSE) are currently on site and are working to repair the section of damage cable.
It is hoped that all remaining affected properties will have power restored by 18:00.
