A woman in her sixties has suffered serious injuries after being knocked to the ground by a Southern Vectis bus on the outskirts of Newport this lunchtime.
Emergency services were called to Fairlee Road near to Fairlee Service Station shortly after 11:45 this morning to reports of collision between a double-decker bus and a pedestrian.
The woman, who has not been named, has suffered serious but not life-threatening injuries including a fractured pelvis.
Fairlee Road was closed by Police and reopened shortly before 14:00.
Traffic in Newport is being described as being at a gridlock due to the continuing one-way restrictions in place on Staplers Road and Fairlee Road.
