Households and businesses in the East Wight are experiencing reduced water pressure this morning (Sunday) due to a burst water main in St Helens.
Contractors are working to repair a 4″ cast iron water pipe that has burst on Eddington Road, with traffic lights now in place to allow the repairs to be carried out by contractors Clancy Docwra.
Island Echo readers are reporting problems in the Seaview, Nettlestone and St Helens areas.
Southern Water say the water main will need to be shut off for a period of time, which will cut the supply completely to a total of 19 properties.
Bottled water has been delivered to the nearby Nodes Point Holiday Park.
A spokesperson for Southern Water has said:
“We understand customers may be experiencing low water pressure and we apologise for the inconvenience.
