The volunteer crew of Freshwater Independent Lifeboat were tasked to assist a broken down motor boat off The Needles this afternoon (Sunday).
‘The Spirit of the West Wight III’ launched at the request of Solent Coastguard at just before 14:00.
Once on scene, a lifeboat crew member was transfered to the casualty vessel and managed to repair the engine resulting in power being restored.
With the motor boat back underway and returning to Southampton, the lifeboat was stood down and rehoused.
