Friends of the Animals is calling for 3 brave individuals to take on the Isle of Wight Ultra Challenge in May to help raise funds for animals in need.
The challenge, held on 2nd/3rd May, follows the Isle of Wight’s stunning coastal path, taking participants past dramatic southern cliffs, the iconic Needles, and through some of the island’s most beautiful landscapes.
Participants can walk, jog or run, with distances ranging from 10 miles to a full 106km endurance challenge, making it accessible for people of all fitness levels. The event is fully supported with rest stops, catering, medical teams and a finish line celebration.
Friends of the Animals has been helping sick, injured and abandoned animals for over 35 years and relies on fundraising to continue its lifesaving work.
Thanks to the generous support of Red Funnel, the charity has been given three places in this year’s challenge and is now searching for volunteers willing to take part and raise sponsorship.
Charity spokesperson from Friends of the Animals said:
“This is a fantastic opportunity for anyone who wants to challenge themselves while helping animals who desperately need care and treatment. Every step taken and every pound raised will help us continue rescuing and supporting animals in need.”
Anyone interested in taking part or securing one of the charity places is encouraged to contact Friends of the Animals on 01983 522 511 to find out more.
