A traffic bollard was flattened when a suspected drink driver crashed in Ryde during the early hours of this morning (Tuesday).
It was just before 00:45 that a white BMW 1-Series travelled up Smallbrook Lane and failed to make a left turn. Instead, the vehicle crashed into a traffic island and wiped out a plastic bollard.
Island Echo understands the driver of the vehicle, a male, continued to travel along Great Preston Road and Marlborough Road before coming to a stop near Trucast.
A woman was a passenger in the car at the time of the incident.
Island Roads has made a temporary fix to the street furniture.

You will find said bollard on the pavement down Harding Road!
Quiet news day?
W.T.F is going on, on our roads.
Thankfully it wasn’t a person that was hit.
