UPDATED: Firefighters have been called to the New Look clothes store in Ryde High Street this afternoon (Saturday).
A pumping appliance and aerial appliance from Ryde are in attendance at the store following reports of smoke inside the building.
Initial investigations have discovered a blown light fitting is the cause of the smoke, however further investigations are taking place to rule out a fire.
Crews were called to the scene at just before 14:00.
An area surrounding the precinct has been cordoned off for the meantime.
UPDATE @ 14:47 – Fire crews have now left the scene. The pedestrian precinct has fully reopened.
