Blossom, a much-loved donkey at the Isle of Wight Donkey Sanctuary in Wroxall, passed away this morning (Thursday), it has been announced.
The death isn’t unexpected for the sanctuary staff as Blossom had been suffering from stomach problems and intolerances for over a year. She would regularly struggle to eat but a clear cause couldn’t be identified.
Sadly, Blossom became very ill in the late afternoon on Wednesday and passed away with her friend Belle by her side today.
She was well known across the Island for leading Palm Sunday parades and attending many village festivals.
The sanctuary says they are growing increasingly concerned for the health of Georgia.

All the religious work and God didn’t save her, makes you think
Sad times! RIP 🙁
The sanctuary do all they can to treat and help these Donkeys, and deserver full support. Very sad, and lets hope the passing gives another Donkey a chance of a happy retirement.
