A golf buggy has caught fire on site at the Isle of Wight Festival this afternoon (Thursday), with black smoke seen billowing into the skies above Seaclose. The fire has broken out near to Pink Moon Camping and has seen a buggy engulfed in flames. The festival’s own fire and rescue service – Emergency Medical & Fire Solutions – is now on scene with firefighters working to extinguish the blaze. Thankfully, no one is thought to have been injured and the incident is contained.
UPDATE @ 14:21 – Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary – live from the festival site – has confirmed none of the festival site, staff or attendees have been affected by the fire. A spokesperson for the Festival has said:
“A fire broke out in an area of the festival. The fire was contained and quickly extinguished by the fire services and no one was injured”.
