Wightlink has cancelled a number of sailings on its Fishbourne-Portsmouth route at the start of the Bank Holiday weekend due to a lack of staff. It’s been confirmed that the absence of an essential crew member has led to the cancellations on the car ferry service for tomorrow (Friday) The 14:40, 16:40, 18:40 and 20:40 sailings from Portsmouth have all been pulled, as have the 15:40, 17:40, 19:40 and 21:40 sailings from Fishbourne. The cross-Solent operator apologises for the inconvenience this action may cause. They say they have been unable to source short notice cover for the absent members of staff and so have taken this action as a last resort. All booked customers have been notified and moved to alternate sailings.
