Local fundraiser Karen Eeles has joined the Aspire Ryde team as Fundraising Manager, it has been announced.
Working with the dedicated team at Aspire, Karen will support bringing in much-needed funds to the Ryde-based charity in these uncertain times.
Karen brings a wealth of experience in fundraising having worked with many Island charities and organisations such as Mountbatten, WightAID and Challenge & Adventure.
Speaking about her new role, Karen says:
“I am really looking forward to a new challenge working with Aspire, they provide a huge community support to the Island, working with all ages. With the support of the island businesses and community we can raise money to continue the work that Aspire do to support the Island”.
Aspire Ryde was established to transform a former church in Dover Street into a community centre. The building is on the ‘at risk’ register and requires considerable work to restore and repurpose it. Since the doors reopened the building has hosted hundreds of events and activities many of which are life-transforming for people.
