Aspire Ryde has launched its Winter Fundraising Campaign to support individuals and families across the Isle of Wight who are struggling with the ongoing cost-of-living crisis.
The Ryde-based charity has announced that this year’s appeal will be supported by the Aviva Community Fund, which will match every donation pound for pound up to £250 per donation – doubling the impact of every contribution.
Steve Johnson, Deputy CEO of Aspire Ryde, has said:
“No one should have to choose between heating and eating or face Christmas alone.
“We’re passionate about building a stronger, more connected community where everyone feels valued, supported, and able to reach their full potential.”
Funds raised through the campaign will provide Christmas hampers, frozen meals, and ‘Bags of Warmth’ to vulnerable residents. In addition to offering immediate support, Aspire Ryde will help individuals take control of their wellbeing and finances.
Everyone who receives support will be invited to a one-to-one session with an experienced staff member or trained volunteer for personalised advice on budgeting, benefits, and access to further training and wellbeing opportunities.
Money raised will go directly towards providing essential items and practical guidance for those most in need. Aspire Ryde is encouraging residents to support the campaign by donating through its Crowdfunder page at www.crowdfunder.co.uk/p/aspire-christmas-support.
