Aspire Ryde is offering free hot meals to local children for the rest of half term, it has been announced.
The Dover Street-based charity will be feeding the children of the Isle of Wight this week in response to a lack of Government action.
If your child is off school and you want to give them a hot meal, then pop along to Aspire on Dover Street between midday and 13:30.
The arrangement is in place for the rest of half term and is free of charge.

mugs – parents will just spend benefit money on alcohol and ciggies, then go up aspire for free food.
band wagon jumping virtue signallers – they will not get another penny in donations from me – i will find a more worthy charity to support.
the government have provided child benefit – use that to buy food- if you do not, it is child neglect.
What sickens many is that these people say it is too demeaning to be given vouchers instead of tax credits, or child allowance, but don’t find it too demeaning to queue for charity hand out food parcels to feed their numerous offspring.
Proving to me, that they often only have the children to then be able to get provided with a free, or heavily subsidised rent and council tax, and then get child allowance of £20 per child per week, as well as child tax credits IF they can be bothered to do 20 short hours work a week, this is as well as their wages, and is around £100 per week per child, then they can claim working tax credits too. So IF the facts were honestly told, MOST get more than a shop worker, as they get thousands a year in benefits yet pay out little in rent and c.tax, or fuel to get to work, and of course have all the time in the world to doss on the beach all summer, and lazy indoors watching a TV all day whilst on facebook to look at a similar cretins painted nails and designer dressed clones, all equally charity kept.
Many work on the sly, many deal in drugs, and many don’t really plan or want a child, it is just if they get pregnant, then ‘their’ life improves as they don’t have to find work, or even ‘feel’ unemployed for a decade, as they are then just seen as ‘victims’ being a ‘lone’ single parent, yet most aren’t alone, only to claim the max benefits which such ‘status’ brings and the live in ‘lover’ along with the ‘muvver’ gains in every way from a soft weak Government, and now, are having their cake and eating it too by the naive, gullible public, imagining the children to be like something out of a Dickens, story, yet the reality is likely to be right little …. vandalising and growing into mini clones of the wom b owner and the s perm donner, to ruin life for the next generation.
SEE them as they ARE, not the ONE example the PC BBC will ‘show’.
Imagine the scene in inne r citie s. Must resemble the UNICEF lorries arriving in a third world country. Only need Bob Geldof there to complete the scene.
No ‘coincidence’ that since such have filled the UK, that we now are too impoverished to be able to now feed our own people.
Happens wherever such settle, over breeding with no means of support, yet now we import such here, so instead of being able to help them in their own lands, can’t even afford to help ourselves.
Politicians know it but dare not say so, for they will be hounded out. So we all have to ‘pretend’ it is just bad luck, not bad lifestyle management.
SEE where the problem stems from, HMG don’t pay for them, YOU do. THINK
Oh, we help them in their own lands, Hendrick. By selling arms to their politicians and generals and by cutting overseas aid. Help indeed.
One ‘wondered’ where they got them from when they use them on our streets so readily. They bring them with them then?
It is only right that overseas aid is slashed, as we are keeping half of them here now anyway.
What a disgusting set of comments. You should be ashamed of yourselves. You are persecuting children because of their background. Disgusting.
What Aspire is doing should be applauded. Well done to them and hope it works well.
Richard, I disagree with your post that the comments made are to be ‘ashamed of.’
The parents in MOST cases should be the ones that ought to be ashamed that they spend their money on everything and anything else first other than feeding what they willingly bought into their impoverished world.
Whilst you likely don’t ‘know’ many of the kind which will be in receipt of such free meals, many of us more enlightened do. We have seen how they live and squander, how whilst we work, they spend their time doing just what they want, and happy that others tend their children or as now pay to feed them too.
And whilst perhaps two or three out of a hundred have real ‘need’ due to a late social security payment or other ‘rare’ blunder, the other 97 will have spent the large amount of money given to them by us taxpayers on other wasteful unnecessary items, KNOWING suckers will then feed their children, who, like a terrorist uses a human shield, then ‘knows’ that they become untouchable themselves.
In this day and age, IF we must protect the children of such, who imo will grow up to be the same only worse, then we must ensure that this cycle is broken now.
This can be done by making all payments for child government charity hand outs, such as child tax credits, child allowance etc, to be given in the form of tokens only redeemed by photo id to prevent the ‘caring parent’ selling such for dope, phone credit, false nails, eyelashes, booze and other modern ‘parent’ essentials.
If they are not too proud to claim free meals, then they won’t be too proud to redeem a voucher.
These people need to know, the world doesn’t and shouldn’t owe them a living for themselves nor for their multiple offspring either.
I feel do-gooders are nice people, but like yourself, gullible and naive, and many of the so called poor parents, use such weakness to their gain, seeing kindness as weakness.
Of course as stated a ‘few’ people may be in need, BUT as all people get the same benefits, they don’t just give someone less for the sake of it, then either ALL have starving children or NONE should. I say it is the latter in all but very exceptional circumstances IF you dig deep enough.
They should have to keep a record of what they spend just like the self-employed, if it doesn’t tally up at the end of the year cut the benefits
Can just imagine that the so called ‘parents’ of many of these children, instead of being grateful will be looking for an allergy, or some spilt hot food on their little clones, so they can then ‘sue’ for compo, SUCH is the rubbish that has the most offspring, nowadays.
Been given too much and now even more, and are led to believe that the world still, somehow, owes them a living for not using free contraception.
Problem is by suckers and do gooders, doing such kind, but misplaced acts, they imagine in their ‘nice’ minds, that these people will be grateful, and the children will be too, yet the more they are given the more they resent those who they see as rich, and just see such actions as ‘weakness’ not ‘kindness’.
Best to let them feel shame, humility and then perhaps the next one night stand may use some contraception, but many see filling a wo mb as a free house, and an income which is safe all the time they keep ‘reproducing’ to cripple the next generation too.
Break the cycle.
I think people are missing the point, yes I agree there are parents out there that spend every penny on everything other than feeding there children and it’s disgusting, yes there are parents that openly do not want to work even part time, but that does not mean that a child, who did not ask to be born, should go hungry and it certainly does not mean that the child will automatically turn out like there own parents.
I agree that it’s frustrating and angering that there are people out there like that but I for one who may I add has worked since I was 14 years old and struggled none the less do not want children in this day and age to go hungry regardless of what there parents are like.
Like I said indo agree with the opinions but let’s be a bit more open minded.
Food tokens then are the way to go, AND cut the benefit to all parents who take up the ‘free food’ offer, as clearly they won’t ‘need’ so much IF they aren’t feeding their children. Simple. The kid gets feed, and the parents get less to blow on themselves.
iowter – no, if the parents spend child benefit on anything other than food for the kid – the kid should be taken into care and the parents get locked up and sterilised.
