Following the success of the 2025 display, a cheque for a staggering £3,772 has been handed over to Mountbatten Isle of Wight by Ash Lane Christmas Lights.
The Gunville display, created by Lee Hayden, not only won Light up the Wight for the second year running but also helped raise vital funds for the local hospice throughout December.
Thousands of Islanders visited the Gunville display last month, with donations collected in support of Mountbatten Isle of Wight.
This evening (Friday), the funds raised were formally presented by homeowner Lee Hayden to Harrie McNeil, Community Fundraiser for Mountbatten.
For the second year running, Ash Lane topped the podium in Island Echo’s Light up the Wight competition, bagging £400 in prize money thanks to sponsors Southern Vectis. The popular display clinched 30% of the public vote.
Furthermore, the display also captured national attention when it was featured on BBC One’s The One Show, with presenter Angellica Bell visiting the street.

Brilliant well done.
