2 men have been arrested and a van-load of evidence seized as part of a burglary investigation linked to stolen tools from the Isle of Wight College.
Police attended an address on Albany Road, Newport on Wednesday and Thursday in connection with a break-in reported to have occurred during the early hours of Sunday (3rd August).
The burglary occurred from within the college grounds off Dodnor Lane, where a quantity of tools were taken.
A large number of items were removed from the Albany Road address as evidence on Thursday afternoon, including a number of boxed Parkside-branded tools such as saws and scarifiers.
Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary has confirmed that 2 men – aged 32 and 43 – have been arrested on suspicion of burglary.
They remained in police custody late yesterday afternoon.
Enquiries are ongoing.
UPDATE – Both men have been bailed, with conditions, until 6th November.
