Armed Police were deployed to a residential street in Newport yesterday evening (Sunday) when reports were received of a man allegedly making threats to kill.
Officers were mobilised to Home Meade, off Furrlongs, shortly before 18:00.
Based on the information provided to Police call handlers, Armed Police from the Joint Operations Unit attended in the first instance.
Hampshire Constabulary have confirmed that a 31-year-old man from Newport has been arrested on suspicion of making threats to kill. He remains in custody at this time.
No one was injured during the incident, which saw at least 6 Police units in attendance.
