Repairs to a sewer pipe at Appley in Ryde mean that the popular car park will be closed to all motorists next week.
Southern Water is undertaking essential repairs to a pipe under the seaside car park, next to the town’s main pumping station.
As a result, the car park will be closed from Monday (23rd January) to Sunday 29th January.
On Wednesday night there will be works taking place at night when the sewer system flow is less.
The Isle of Wight Council says that the car park closure is necessary to ensure public safety during the works.
It was in January 2021 that a sewer pipe at Appley failed, leading to a £7million emergency repair project.
