An Isle of Wight vape shop is now offering a new stop smoking service, available to anyone who wishes to stop smoking.
Ape Vapes, located in Newport and Shanklin, is running the campaign in partnership with Healthy Lifestyles Isle of Wight.
E-cigarettes are an effective way of quitting smoking due to their ability to deliver clean nicotine to satisfy cravings. Studies released this year from Kings College London found that people who use e-cigarettes to quit smoking are over 5 times more likely to stop versus those who go cold turkey.
One of the main positives to vaping, as opposed to smoking, is that e-liquids contain ingredients found in foods and plants, compared to smoking which contains deadly toxins.
As part of Ape Vapes new stop smoking service, participants can receive;
- Free vape kits
- Continued support throughout the smoke-free journey
- Expert advice on how to be successful with stopping smoking
- Vouchers for E-Liquid
The service is available to over 18s only and it takes around 30 minutes to get set up to start your stop smoking journey. All Ape Vapes staff are National Centre for Smoking Cessation and Training (NCSCT) certified Stop Smoking Practitioners.
The stop smoking service is available at St James Street, Newport and High Street, Shanklin.

Stop smoking by vaping instead?? WTF! That’s still smoking. Just a different method. All the same bad chemicals involved. And the second hand vapor is worse than the smoke.
Please explain??
you obviously know nothing about vaping sir! please disembark your high horse
Vaping does indeed contain nasty chemicals, unless you like embalming fluid. It is also the case that many large tobacco companies are now buying up these e cigarette companies. Don’t believe the propaganda, it is the same as that from 50+ years ago given about cigarettes. There is fair better help and doesn’t mean going cold turkey. Has the Island Echo actually done any research here at all.
I used to smoke and decided to give up and did with no help from anyone or anything. I guess I must have a strong will power. It can be done without any props if someone is strong enough in their own mind.
Tobacco is a “plant” that does not make it healthy, I think that this article is grossly misleading with the way it has described vaping as “clean” and containing ingredients found in “foods and plants”. I suspect that yes it is better than smoking cigarettes, but this article really should be re-written. Is this even in line with uk laws on promoting e-cigarettes?
I gave up smoking small cigars 5 years ago and took up vaping. After 3 days I relented and tried one of my emergency cigars. It was truly disgusting…. Now, no more nasty colds. No more nasty smells in the house. No more painful chest first thing in the morning.Nicotine addiction is next in line to cannabis/coke/heroin/alcohol. Kicking the nicotine addiction is not easy but the NHS seem to be of the opinion that getting someone switched to vapes is the lesser of two evils when considering the long term costs of treating cancers caused by cigarette smokers. It won’t be long before you can get vapes on the NHS.
after nearly 25 years of smoking i switched to vaping 2 years ago and never looked back. the smell of cigarettes now makes me feel sick
