Shanklin Football Club have been left reeling after vandals defaced their clubhouse with offensive graffiti, including swastikas – with even a public defibrillator targeted in the act of mindless vandalism.
The disturbing incident has prompted outrage in the local community, with images shared online showing the hate symbols sprayed across the walls of the club and on the life-saving equipment installed outside.
Club officials have described the act as ‘highly offensive’ and ‘mindless’, expressing disbelief that anyone would deface a defibrillator – a device which could one day save a life, potentially even that of someone close to the vandals themselves.
A spokesperson for Isle of Wight Defibrillators has not held back, saying:
“Whoever did this you are true scum”
The football club has confirmed that CCTV footage of the suspects – all believed to be youths – has been passed to the police. However, they are appealing for the public’s help to identify those responsible.

“Does anyone know these kids?
Article continues below this advertisement “They have spray painted highly offensive swastikas over our clubhouse and even over the public defibrillator which is in place to save people’s lives – potentially one of their own family. How low and mindless can they be?
“Hopefully this gets to their parents and they will pay for this to be removed – or do it themselves.
“The CCTV has been passed to the police but any information to help get the culprits will be grateful.”
Members of the public have reacted with shock and disgust online, with many calling for swift justice and urging those responsible to come forward.

UPDATE THURSDAY – The parents of 2 of the 3 boys involved have been in touch with Shanklin FC – and have offered a resolution to the situation.
Furthermore, Island Roads has assisted with the clean-up of the graffiti, as supporters of IOW Defibrillators.
As such, the photographs of the children have now been removed from this article.
A spokesperson for the club has said:
“We really hope they can learn from this and realise that the club and facilities is for everyone in the town including themselves should they ever wish to get into football or other community events”.

Sadly the courts will do nothing, and they know it. They are protected by do gooders and hand wringers, the usual B/S about ”Can’t do anything because of their age” will be used because of them, and so it goes on time after time and every time. They should be tagged if they have committed any crime so they can be traced on their whereabouts at all times, but of course, the do gooders will stop that happening and say it is against their rights.
