UPDATED: Firefighters have this morning extinguished a two-car vehicle fire in Sandown, one of which contained ammunition that was at risk of exploding.
Crews from the Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service were called to Sandown Train Station car park shortly before 10:00 following reports that two Land Rovers were alight.
A Land Rover Discovery, which is understood to have contained ammunition for a shotgun, has been severely damaged in the blaze, which spread to the side of a Land Rover Freelander that was parked in front of the Discovery.
Island Line train services are running as per normal.
UPDATED: The incident has been been concluded and both Police and firefighters from Shanklin Fire Station have left the scene.
