An incident on a main road in Ryde has resulted in the scrambling of the Hampshire & Isle of Wight Air Ambulance this afternoon (Sunday).
Emergency service personnel were first called to Melville Street at around 14:00.
Multiple resources from the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service including an Enhanced Care Paramedic and Operational Commander, were dispatched to the scene.
The assistance of the Hampshire & Isle of Wight Air Ambulance (HIOWAA) was also requested with flying paramedics making their way to the scene from the landing site at Simeon Street Recreation Ground.
Island Echo understands that an individual is being tended to at the side of the road. It is unclear as to how the incident occurred and if any vehicles have been involved.
Southern Vectis Route 9 buses are diverting via Esplanade and George Street until further notice.
