The Hampshire & Isle of Wight Air Ambulance has been scrambled to an incident on the fringes of Brighstone Forest this afternoon (Wednesday). Flying medics were alerted to the medical emergency in the vicinity of the Public Bridleway CB20 at around 13:15. They have now joined colleagues from the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service, with the yellow and green helicopter touching down on the northern edge of Brighstone Down at just gone 13:35. The Isle of Wight Ambulance Service has a paramedic crew and a critical care doctor on scene.
UPDATE @ 14:27 – Less than an hour after landing, the air ambulance has lifted off from Brighstone and has relocated to the helipad at St Mary’s Hospital, Newport.
