The Hampshire & Isle of Wight Air Ambulance has landed in a field in Whippingham this afternoon (Tuesday) in response to a medical emergency.
Flying doctors are assisting the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service with the ongoing incident at East Cowes Road.
1 ambulance crews, 1 rapid response paramedic and an officer are in attendance at a residential address, alongside the HEMS team.
The yellow and green helicopter has landed in a field close to the scene of the emergency. It touched down at just before 15:00.
UPDATE @ 15:40 – The casualty is to be airlifted to a mainland hospital for further, specialist treatment.
UPDATE @ 16:10 – The air ambulance has departed the scene and has taken the casualty to Southampton General Hospital.
