The Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance landed on St Helen’s Green earlier today (Sunday) to attend to a cardiac patient in the village.
The red and yellow helicopter – a livery being used whilst a new helicopter is prepared for the charity – landed in the middle of St Helens at around 15:00 after being requested to attend by the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service. Island Echo understand a gentleman was suffering cardiac problems.
The patient, who is believed to have been located at the St Helens Holiday Park, was taken to St Mary’s Hospital, Newport by land ambulance.
