The Hampshire & Isle of Wight Air Ambulance has landed in the West Wight this morning (Thursday) to assist in airlifting a seriously ill patient to the mainland.
The Isle of Wight Ambulance Service requested the assistance of the HEMS team at around 09:10, with the yellow and green helicopter touching down in the vicinity of Copse Lane at just gone 09:30.
Island Echo understands that a local ambulance has met the air ambulance near to King’s Manor Farm Shop.
UPDATE @ 10:18 – The decision has been taken to convey the patient by road to St Mary’s Hospital.
The air ambulance has now relocated to the helipad in Newport.
