Adverse weather conditions across the Isle of Wight have led to the suspension of both Hovertravel’s and Red Funnel’s Red Jet cross-Solent services this morning (Monday).
As the new working week begins, commuters travelling between the Isle of Wight and the mainland have been hit with the cancellation of all hover crossings from Ryde to Southsea, and hi-speed services between West Cowes and Southampton.
Hovertravel tickets are being accepted on Wightlink’s Fastcat service, which will likely be busier for all passengers. Those travelling to and from Ryde Pier Head should allow extra time.
An update is expected from Hovertravel at 07:45, but there is no guarantee that services will resume at that time.
Red Funnel say the Red Jets will remain off until at least 10:00.
UPDATE – Red Jet services have now resumed, but Hovertravel’s cross-Solent operation remains suspended.
Hovertravel’s services are expected to resume at 06:30 on Tuesday morning.
