HM Coastguard and the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service are involved in an incident at Ryde Esplanade this morning (Tuesday), where some concern has been raised for the welfare of an individual. At just gone 05:30, Coastguard Rescue Teams from Bembridge and Ventnor – and paramedics – were mobilised to Ryde Esplanade amid concerns for a female. Cowes RNLI lifeboat was also launched. Resources remain on scene more than an hour after the alarm was raised but the immediate search operation has concluded. The woman has been located in the local vicinity, however, she is now walking around Western Gardens. Coastguard Rescue Officers have donned their water rescue equipment in case the person enters the water. Police have not attended. 3 Coastguard vehicles, an ambulance and an operational commander remain tied up at the scene. It’s the second such incident in the past week. Last Monday, a very similar search was conducted for a female. She was later found roaming the area watching the search operation unfold – and was later detained by Police on Union Street.
