An 86-year-old man has been arrested as part of an investigation into a report of a sexual assault in Cowes.
It is alleged that the offence occurred at an address in the town yesterday (Sunday).
As part of the Police’s enquiry into the complaint, 2 benches were cordoned off at the junction of Crossfield Avenue and Ward Avenue for a time on Sunday afternoon. Although the offence did not take place on the benches, the cordon – which was lifted by 16:00 – formed part of the investigation.
The unnamed man in his 80s has been released on bail until 15th November.
Investigations are ongoing and officers are in the area conducting enquiries.
Not exactly a joke is it to the victim.
