Wight Tri hosted ‘StubbingNOT’ – a free fun run and alternative to the official Stubbington 10k – on Sunday (12th January).
Approximately 57 brave runners wrapped up to do the full 10k from Yaverland to the end of Shanklin and back with the option to do a shorter version.
Before setting off, Wight Tri Chairman Jack Elton-Walters and Secretary Arielle Elton-Walters had the important task of pulling a name out the hat for a London Marathon place awarded to the club for eligible members. The successful winner was Craig Wilson, who had his 2nd win when he was the 1st man back over the finish line. 1st lady was Alisha Hutchinson not too far behind.
David Anderson and Claire Squirrell were also awarded the ‘Duathletes of the Year’ trophy by the club Chairman at the end of the run.
The next Wight Tri Duathlon is the East Cowes Enima on Sunday, 26th January.
Membership of Wight Tri is just £5 membership currently and £5 for events. Participants need a pair of trainers, a bicycle and a helmet.
All events are nominated times, so everyone has a chance of winning.
