4TH ROUND OF WIGHT TRI WINTER DUATHLON HELD AT EAST COWES

The 4th round of the Wight Tri winter duathlon series took place from East Cowes Esplanade on Sunday (14th January). There were fine if not chilly conditions for the 18 club members who took part in a run/bike/run format. Each run either 4.2km or 2.2km, and the bike 1, 2 or 3 of 10km laps out to the Fairlee Roundabout and back. The fastest male and female over the long course (4.2km run, 30 km cycle and 4.2km run) were Sean Williams (1:29:59) and Janet Fletcher (1:46:35). There were 3 members within 20 seconds on nominated time, the measure the Wight Tri series champion is awarded. Daron Perkins came 1st, 18 seconds out from his nomination, with Sally Neumann in joint 2nd place just 19 seconds out. The next event in the series will be on Sunday 25th February, venue to be decided, for club members only. Membership is currently £5 up to April 2024.
