Police carried out a drugs raid on a property in Newport this morning (Monday), arresting a 47-year-old man.
Officers executed a pre-planned warrant at an address on Albany Road at 07:55.
A 47-year-old man from Newport was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply a class a drug.
He remains in custody at this time.
This latest raid comes as part of Hampshire Constabulary’s ongoing investigations into the supply of drugs on the Isle of Wight.

i own the house have no criminal record and pay my taxes i never worn any of these brands i have had my house targeted 3 times and my phone taken with nothing found.

I’m not condoning drug use but the war on drugs is lost, prohibition just makes criminals and gangsters. A completely new approach is needed.

No drugs were found at my house i have no criminal record i work pay tax the house has been targeted 3 times with nothing found even taking my phone say no more. the man in question was arrested for asking for a warrent which wasnt produced when entering the house for a third time
Well done again Police. I hope the public keep the momentum going and report drug dealers so that eventually they might get the message that they are an unwanted drain on civilised society.
I am aware that locking people up in jail is costly but there are no other deterrents .
Financial penalties are just an occupational hazard. They just sell more drugs to pay the fines.
Lives and families are destroyed by drugs both for victims and ultimately dealers families
If you suspect drug dealing then report it. It is a scourge on the country and indeed the world .
The police arrested this man simply because he asked for a warrent no drugs were found because he doesnt deal drugs.This house has been targeted 3 times with nothing found even taken our phones and nothing found on them.
