A 23-year-old Ryde man has been arrested on suspicion of driving whilst unfit through drink after allegedly being spotted driving in an erratic manner yesterday afternoon (Sunday).
Police were called at around 15:20 to a report of a black Ford Ka travelling in an erratic manner along Quarr Road.
The vehicle was stopped a short time later by officers on St John’s Road, who boxed the car in near the junction with Warwick Street.
The driver, a 23-year-old man from Ryde, was arrested on suspicion of driving whilst unfit through drink.
Officers seized a number of beer cans from within the Ka.
The suspected drink driver has been released from police custody but remains under investigation while enquiries continue.
Needs banging up, keep our Roads safe from

Everyone one drives in an erratic manner along Quarr road because of pot hole avoidance, perhaps it was Quarr hill.
From what I see on a daily basis island motorists
always drive in an erratic manner.
Shame the Law don’t see this.
