Havenstreet A moved into 3rd place after a 9-1 victory over Newport Vics A in 1 of only 2 games completed in Division 1.
However, Vics’ Anna Joyce beat Havenstreet’s Para Champion Tom Johnson in four sets. Vic’s Dave Hilliam was the unluckiest player of the night, taking Johnson and team mates Michael Bulpitt and Keith Baker to five sets in every game, but losing out in the final set in each.
Newport Vics B met a depleted Ryde Goshawks, and the match ended 5-5, with wins for Vic’s Barry Joyce and Charlie Stapeley, whilst Ryde’s Martin Johnstone was player of the match and unbeaten, although Stapeley took him to 5 sets.

It was a busy week in Division 2, and the top 2 teams had contrasting fortunes, with leaders Ryde Revellers enjoying an easy match against Newport Vics D, with a 9-1 win.
2nd-placed Ryde Detonators were held to a draw by Havenstreet B. Havenstreet’s Carl Rye was unbeaten and player of the match.
Ryde Rising Stars – with 2 cadets in the team – had an excellent win against RydeRockets, although the Rocket’s Trevor Percival was on top form and unbeaten. Cadets Thane Taylor and Theo Lewis played in the deciding doubles at the end of the evening, which proved a thrilling game with the youngsters taking it in 5 sets against Percival and partner Tim Wakeley.

With only 2 matches completed this week in Division 3, Wroxall Warriors head the table over St Lawrence Lizards after both won 7-3 against Ryde Rustics and Shorwell Saints respectively.
St Lawrence’s Derek Pittard heads the averages table, having been beaten only once, by Wroxall’s Andrew Bailey, who is unbeaten but has played fewer matches.
