Ryde Rowing Club has successfully been awarded a grant of £3,000 from the Rowing Foundation.
The money will be put towards a new in-line Coastal Four/Quad boat that the club is having built by AB Composites of Cowes.
The Rowing Foundation gives grants of £500-£3,000 (up to 50% of the overall cost of the project) to help organisations and clubs involved in on-water elements of the sport of rowing. It specifically helps those who may be too small or otherwise ineligible for an approach to the National Lottery or other similar sources of funds.
Might help them out when the Council wants their headquarters moved, again, because it doesn’t suit hollibobs’ needs. Trees felled at Appley heralds a building plan for the car park…. Mark my words. Make a view, build some flats. If not, it sets a precedent for the felling of trees the other end of Appley beach so the new mini estate can have cracking hollibobs mare vistas!
