St Mary’s Hospital is seeing an increasing number of COVID-19 patients being admitted, with many of those describes as ‘very sick’ confirmed as being unvaccinated.
More than 30 people with COVID-19 are being treated at the Island’s only hospital, which equates to around 20% of the total beds at St Mary’s. However, today’s situation is much better than the peak of the second wave over December and January.
The Isle of Wight NHS Trust has refused to comment on how many of the 30 patients have been vaccinated, due to being ‘forbidden’ on the grounds of patient confidentiality. It’s simply said that ‘many’ of those now in hospital have not been vaccinated.
Steve Parker, Medical Director at Isle of Wight NHS Trust, has said:
“We are definitely feeling the impact of the rise in cases across the Island over the last month and now have more than 30 people in hospital with a COVID-19 diagnosis.
“That might not sound like a huge number and it is certainly less than the peak of the second wave, but it is still around 20% of the total number of beds in St Mary’s Hospital and our teams are under increasing pressure. We are also seeing some very sick people in intensive care, many of whom have not been vaccinated.
“Our plea to the island community is to please keep your guard up. You can help us by getting vaccinated if you haven’t already, make sure you get your second jab if you still need it and wear a mask or face covering in crowded places to try and limit the spread of the virus.
“We are here for you but we need your help.”

Around 9 in 10 Island adults have now been vaccinated against COVID in some capacity, leaving a small minority who haven’t. Despite this, strict restrictions are still in place in healthcare settings with visitors banned from seeing loved ones.

But not everyone can have the vaccine, there are valid reasons for why some people can’t have it, that isn’t their fault, they shouldn’t be blamed for that, they are more at risk from other people than other people being at risk from them. People who can;t have the vaccine still have to go out and do things like get shopping etc, think how frightening it is for them.

a pack of lies – they can easily state a figure of those vaccinated in hospital – without specific details of the individual. They simply do not want you knowing that there are people in there who have been jabbed – if there weren’t any, they would be shouting it from the rooftops.
Same with the Government, They won’t tell you how many ministers or Government workers have been vaccinated as this is a breach of personnel data . If they are so convinced this is working shout about it don’t cover it up with data protection.

Someone cant count. If 30 people is 20% of their bed stock then they have 150 beds. If it is 40 people being infected at 20% of their bed stock then that would be 200. Either way they appear to have lost a couple of dozen beds over the last few years.
Now i understand why am waiting for a emergency operation.
I have been classed by specialist as requiring emergency operation.
Now we see the blame for the delays is people ill with covid ,whom
has not had the covid jab ,all of these whom refused vaccines are totally

covid has a 99.98% survival rate, with one in three showing no symptoms at all and the vast majority having nothing more than flu like symptoms.
The jab is only designed to attempt to reduce the likelyhood of severe symptoms and death – it doesn’t stop transmission and it doesn’t reduce viral load.
This means it should only really be given to those in the vulnerable or at risk categories – all others do not need it and covid passports are pointless as vaccines are not 100% effective and do not prevent transmission and getting covid.

I’m not an antivaxer but I have had covid. It’s like the flu for me and many others. U know have natural immunity so don’t need the Vax. Facts. I suggest everyone looks at the actual facts and figures before hating on eachother for being vaxed or not
Natural immunity offers around 13x higher protection than the jab when it comes to reinfection. I know which I’d rather.

Whilst your claim may at first appear valid, you do not appear to be putting the figures in context. I have just followed your link and you do not mention that the report goes on to say, and I quote, “ However, the higher number of fully vaccinated people dying does not mean that the vaccine is not working, but instead reflects the large majority of people in England who have now been jabbed.” if people are inclined to post propaganda on this site please include the full facts and not just the typical social media rumour we have all got so conditioned to.
What an entirely unhelpful comment. A huge problem is the lack of sensible debate around this subject and it’s suppression and censorship not only on the internet and in the news but down to we the people and the way we communicate to each other. Calling someone a Covidiot seems a knee jerk reaction that helps no one and stifles debate.
One only has to look at the data coming out of Israel that has some of the highest vaccine uptake in the world to see that vaccination on this scale with this virus is not particularly effective. Now rolling out 3rd jabs with plans for more boosters following that due to waning immunity, I do wonder where will it end? Perpetual shots for everyone for the rest of our lives? I am not a conspiracy theorist by any means but one doesn’t have to dig that far to see there is something illogical to this line of treatment, particularly as the government and the WHO will not entertain any other form of prevention or treatment. It was rushed, is flawed and frankly I find it quite worrying that the general population of earth would take something just because their government and the news tells them to without the proper data to back up the claims of it’s efficacy.
