There were comfortable wins for all 3 Ryde teams in action in the top tier of the Island’s winter table tennis league last week.
Division 1
| Havenstreet B | 1 | Ryde B | 9 |
| Ryde D | 8 | Shanklin Warriors | 2 |
| Newport Vics A | 3 | Ryde A | 7 |
In Division 1 the 3 Ryde teams in action all had comfortable wins against Havenstreet, Shanklin and Newport Vics.
Second-placed Ryde B’s Conal Howells, Joseph Chapman and Ricky Lock defeated Havenstreet B 9-1, with just a doubles win to show for Havenstreet’s efforts.
Top-placed Ryde A had to fight harder in their match against Newport Vic’s A, with Ryde’s unbeaten Scott Lawson only just holding on against Vic’s Anna Joyce in a tense 5 set encounter. Both Lawson and Joyce will be representing the Isle of Wight in next year’s Island Games in Guernsey. Joyce was also unlucky against Ryde’s Rob Smith, and Vic’s Dave Hilliam performed well with 2 wins, but Ryde A came out on top with the match ending 7-3.
