2 men and a woman have been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent after a male was seriously assaulted in Ventnor High Street last night (Thursday).
It was at around 20:50 that a man in his 40s was assaulted, suffering a kick that was so forceful that he was left with a broken leg.
Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary have launched an investigation into the incident, which occurred outside Tesco Express near the junction with Spring Hill.
Island Echo understands the injured male was left on the ground for sometime awaiting an ambulance. He was eventually conveyed to St Mary’s Hospital for treatment.
Police have confirmed that a 38-year-old man, a 30-year-old man and a 22-year-old woman have all been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily garm with intent.
The 38-year-old has also been arrested on suspicion of assault with intent to resist arrest. The 30-year-old has also been arrested on suspicion of possession of cocaine and the 22-year-old woman has also been arrested on suspicion of common assault of an emergency worker and possession of cannabis.
All 3 remain in custody at this time.
