25-year-old Calvin Aggar has admitted 3 counts of making an indecent photograph of a child.
Aggar, now of Francis Avenue in Southsea but previously of Copse Lane, Freshwater, pleaded guilty to 3 counts of making indecent photograph/pseudo-photograph of a child when he appeared at the Isle of Wight Magistrates Court on Tuesday (29th August).
Liz Miller, prosecuting, told the court that on 18th December 2019, Police attended Aggar’s address in the West Wight and conducted a search. Numerous items were seized during the search including phones, a Dell laptop and a tower PC.
After forensic searches were carried out on the digital devices it was discovered that there was evidence that Aggar was distributing the indecent images via the social media platform Kik.
Among the devices, a total of 16 Category A images, 35 Category B images and 26 Category C images were seized. Images were in both still and video form.
Defending, Amy Hosell said that her client deserved full credit for entering guilty pleas at the earliest opportunity.
Magistrates ordered a pre-sentence report be compiled and the case be adjourned until 3rd October.
