Police and paramedics have been called to a 2-car crash on a residential road in Gunville this afternoon (Thursday).
Emergency service personnel rushed to Fieldfare Road at just after 15:00, following reports of a 2-car crash.
On scene, a Peugeot 208 and a Ford B-Max have collided head-on with one another, resulting in both vehicles being left damaged in the middle of the carriageway. The Isle of Wight Ambulance Service has dispatched an Operational Commander to the scene.
As a result of the smash, Fieldfare Road is blocked near its junction with Linnet Close. All this has occurred just as the trio of nearby schools – Carisbrooke College, Carisbrooke Primary and Christ the King College – finish for the day.
It is unclear if any injuries have been sustained.
UPDATE @ 17:00 – Police have confirmed that only minor injuries have been sustained.
The involved vehicles have been recovered and the road has been reopened.
