A bi-annual fundraiser in which 2 Ryde shops team up to put on an Autumn/Winter fashion show has raised £1,800 for charity.
Bellissima and Sugar & Spice, both located on Union Street, held the event in aid of Isle of Wight Prostate Cancer Support Group at The Royal Esplanade Hotel on the weekend before Halloween.
The hotel had decorated the room beautifully to the theme of Halloween and guests were treated to a thriller opening dance routine, performed by several of the models and 2 guests from Spotlight Theatre Company. There was also an appearance from James Bond and M to open the second half!
Guests had a fabulous evening of fun, whilst viewing the latest styles that are now available in both stores, shown by the 22 models. There was entertainment from Short n Sweet Duo throughout the evening, which ended with a raffle thanks to prize donations from other local businesses.
Sheila Wilson, owner of Sugar and Spice, said:
“Its always a fabulous evening and such is the popularity of the event tickets had sold out several weeks beforehand”.
Tina Lettington, owner of Bellisssima, adds:
“A lot of work goes into the evening and this time included making the costumes for the thriller routine, but always worth it when we hand over that cheque”.
A cheque for £1878.00 was presented to Graham Dooley and Pam Blayney, representatives of the Isle of Wight Prostate Cancer Support Group.
